The vision of the Students’ program is that the right to education is a basic human right. The program started in 2010 by giving grants that covered 30% to 70% of tuition fees in accordance with standards and categories approved by MAF. The grants are transferred directly to universities’ accounts once students’ transcripts are reviewed and ensuring that they register for the required credit hours.

Students’ program mission

1. The responsible, patriotic, and humanitarian mission of the Students’ program is to ensure education opportunities to Palestinian people in Lebanon.  
2. Contribute to overcoming economic and social hardships that prevent Palestinian students in Lebanon from having education opportunities.
3. Develop national and community partnership to support the Palestinian people in Lebanon and to facilitate development of scientific and academic capacities. 
4. Support basic education at the schools at Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon and enhance students’ educational attainment.  

Students’ program objectives

1. Give financial support to university students, high attaining students, and those who need a chance to continue university education.
2. Contribute to enhancing students’ educational attainment.
3. Contribute to enhancing the educational environment of Palestinian families.
4. Guide students to educational topics that contribute to state building and serving the Palestinian and Arab communities.
5. Enhance national belonging and awareness of Palestinian students in Lebanon.  

Students’ program achievements

• By the end of the school year 2017-2018, approximately 1,150 students at 19 universities in addition to 292 students at vocational training centers had benefited from the Students’ program.
• The number of graduates who benefited from MAF’s grants is approximately 1,700. They work in their area of specialty or otherwise; however, some are still looking for jobs.
• The total amount of money that has been transferred to universities’ and institutes’ accounts in education aid exceeds 24 million U.S. dollars.
• MAF paid visits to nine UNRWA schools where the majority of students are Palestinians. MAF targets secondary school students to introduce MAF to them and guide them to define their future intentions.
• MAF has signed memoranda of understanding with the American University of Technology, Rafic Hariri High School, Arts, Science and Technology University in Lebanon, Saint Joseph’s University, and Al Jinan University. MAF will soon sign an agreement with other recognized universities.
